I’ve said many times over that to be successful in Network Marketing you have to treat it like any other business. Not because you have to treat it like A business, but because it IS a business like any other!

So, how do people market their business today, in a time when the customer is in control now more than ever?

People have changed how they research and consume information, products and services, so you have to reach them where they are.  Here are a few online marketing tips to help you use online marketing to grow your network marketing business.

CONTENT MARKETING

Companies blast us with information all the time, and most of the time it’s not very relevant or valuable.  We throw those flyers in our mailbox away. The emails go to SPAM.  We hide that person on Facebook.  Content Marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing relevant content to attract and retain a target audience.

Create Content

Instead of putting 1000 flyers in the parking lot at the mall and hoping someone may be interested in your product or service, you are creating content that targets those people specifically.  How?  By creating useful content that helps them with their search.  The general idea is if we deliver consistent, valuable information to potential customers, they ultimately reward us with their business and loyalty.

Know Your Customers

To get started you simply have to know your customers, tell your brand story, and set your goals.  Based upon those you will know what content your customers are looking for, where they spend their time, and how to measure and analyze reporting.

For me, my goal is to provide relevant, useful content that helps people be more successful with their  business.  Video is the best form of content for me, but it’s the same idea. I provide content that I think will reach my audience where they are, which is out looking for ways to start and grow their network marketing business.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

Social Media Marketing is a powerful way for your network marketing business to reach prospects and customers in ways you never could before.  Your customers are already interacting with brands through social media, and if you’re not speaking directly to your audience through social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, you’re missing out!

Social Media has changed how people communicate and it’s changing how organizations do business. Social Media needs to be an integral component to any successful network marketing business plan. Remember, to them, YOU are the brand!

Who’s On Social Media?

Social Media Marketing involves creating and sharing content on social media networks where your target customers spend time, in order to achieve your marketing and branding goals. It involves activities like posting text and image updates, videos, as well as paid advertising.  It’s also the best way to distribute the the unique content you create with your content marketing strategy.

I’m constantly releasing content on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc, all with the hopes of distributing content best suited for those platforms. Each one it’s own demographic, so to reach my entire audience I have to use them properly.

For example: Instagram has a younger demographic than Facebook and Twitter. Pinterest is very visual and is more popular with women.  YouTube is huge for searches by millennials.  Know your market, and go meet them where they are.

Creating Content on Social Media

Creating the content on your social media platforms can get tricky after a while. What do you post? First, make sure you go back to your target market. Figure out who you’re talking to and where you want to talk to them. From there figure out what’s going to interest and entice them.

EMAIL MARKETING

Some say Email Marketing is dead, but reality doesn’t agree.  With a good content marketing strategy in place, email may be more powerful than ever. Everyone has email and checks it regularly on their laptops, their tablets, and their phones.

According to the Direct Marketing Association Email Marketing has an ROI of around 4,300%. So not only does it have the broadest audience, but it’s very cost-effective.

Now I’m not talking just about email newsletters that waste people’s time and end up in SPAM. Those don’t work. What does work is good email content that deepens your relationship with your audience.

That’s right, we’re going back to that Content Marketing strategy above.  Here’s another distribution channel, and one that connects you directly with members of your target audience. Stay in touch with your community and build stronger relationships for the long-term.

CREATING A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY

Now I know I’ve only touched on these topics, and probably haven’t offered you quite enough detail to go and start implementing a new online marketing strategy to help grow your network marketing business.

But I want to help change your thinking and help= you understand some of the tools at your disposal, what purpose they serve, and how they can help you. Start by dialing in on your target market. Who is most interested in your products? Who were they created for? Where are these people? Spend some time thinking about what that looks like in your company and build everything else from there.
