    Learn the 3 Secrets to Unlock the Power of YouTube!

    Hey, hey, how are you? This is Darin Kidd. I hope you are having an awesome day, and today I am going to give you one of my secrets that I use to getting more sales, more business, more reps into my business, even while I was sleeping.     Hey, James. Hey, great to see you. Thanks for joining. And today, I’m going to talk to you about something that… We’re going to get straight to the point here in just a second, but again, keep letting me know where you’re watching from, what platform. If you’re on YouTube, make sure to subscribe to the channel and click that little bell because you’re going to see me over the next few months continually bringing you great content to help you get further faster in your business, to learn from my experience over the last 28 years, not only building network marketing teams but hundreds of thousands of people that did over a half a billion dollars in revenue, but also having traditional businesses and franchises that also did multiple seven figures. And so there’s business principles that apply no matter what business you’re in, and anytime you can learn from someone else’s experience, that just helps shorten your learning curve. It helps you get to where you want to be a lot sooner than later.

    Why You Should Be Using YouTube

    And so what I’m going to do today is I’m going to teach you, or talk to you about why, if you are not using YouTube to build your business, I think it is a huge mistake, and I’m going to give you some facts to back it up, and then if you can let me know in the comments if this is something that you want me to do more training on as we go forward, because the same things that got you to where you are right now are not the same things that are going to get you to the next level. Not all of them. And the same way of thinking is not the same thinking that’s going to get you to the next level. So to get somewhere that we’ve never gotten before, we’ve got to think differently and we’ve got to act differently, and a lot of times it’s going to be uncomfortable.

    Some people may not even jump on this training just because they saw the title and go, “You know what? I don’t really care about YouTube.” But let me just say this, they say opportunities, and this is good for your business as well, it’s good to remember this when people don’t exactly see why they should be a customer of yours, why they should join you in the business, and sometimes we think that’s a bad thing, but it’s not always a bad thing. If everyone saw the opportunity, then there wouldn’t be the opportunity that you have in front of you. Once everybody’s accepted what you have, there still can be an opportunity, there’s always an opportunity, but it won’t be what you have at this moment. And I learned that from some mentors of mine. They said, “Darin, opportunities go through three phases, ridiculed, opposed, and then self-evident.”

    So not only does that apply to things like cellphones. Back in the day, when people thought no one will ever have a phone in their car, in their purse, and guess what, they do. All right. Hey, thank you for the support, I appreciate that, and also thank you for sharing Lisa. But now everyone knows what a cell phone is, right? The two year old can operate it better than we do, the opportunity to make the kind of money you could make back then doesn’t exist. Okay. I saw a friend of mine recently who said, “Look, thanks to network marketing.” And this guy has made tens of millions of dollars in network marketing, but he makes a couple million dollars a year in his network marketing business, but from his investments, he makes eight figures a year. Okay.

    And that’s a great goal to have your investments, put overalls on your money, have it make more money than your network marketing money, have it work for you basically is what I’m trying to say. But he made this comment. He goes, “Listen, being open minded about network marketing made me millions, but not being open minded when it came to a certain type of investment, I lost a billion.” Because he’s really big into the stock market. So it’s really good to have an open mind, and that’s exactly what you have right now as you’re watching this. And here’s a secret, when I was a distributor, and I was a distributor for 28 years, but my last seven years that I ran and built a massive team, how many of you want me to share with you how I got sales and recruits in my sleep? And that’s exactly what happened.

    Now, I’m not trying to say that you can do nothing and get something, right. That’s not the point. But what I did was, even though I was nonstop focused on the basic fundamentals of building my business, I also did some other things on the side. Okay. So almost 10 years go, I launched a YouTube channel. It was really bad, right. And I still got some videos back from eight, nine years ago on my YouTube channel, so you can go get a good laugh if you want to later on and watch some of those. I remember one of them was the little flip camera. I forget what you even call it, but it was like a little box. And there was no zooming in, there was no zooming out, right. And so that was some of my first videos. You’ll see one that was an antique computer behind me.

    YouTube Helped Me Grow My Network Marketing Business

    And then I deleted some of them, which I really wish I would not have, because I would love for you to see how bad the first ones really were. But I started practicing and in my last network marketing company, before I left the industry to become a coach and a trainer and a speaker and all of that and a consultant, I really started focusing on YouTube. And even though I didn’t know a whole lot about what I was doing, and then I hired some people to help me with a strategy and gave me some tips and some techniques, I hired one of the top 20 YouTubers in Forbes magazine. Then it got to the point where I was able to create content and recruit leaders and get customers in any and every country that we opened up when I was a distributor.

    And so I was like, “Wow, this is how I can leverage my time, energy and efforts even when I’m doing other things.” And so what I want to do today is I want to help you get the right mindset and help you make a decision like, “Hey, look, is it worth me taking a look at YouTube? Is it worth me taking some time, energy and effort to really get outside of my comfort zone?” Because if you look, there are people. The number one money earner on YouTube is a child. And the child started out opening up toys and built a massive following, and I forget, I think it’s over $20 million a year. I forgot to Google that before I jumped on here. There are people that are cooking and making lots of money on YouTube. There are people that are talking about planning a garden. There are people that are talking about crypto. Anything and everything you could possibly imagine is on YouTube, and video is growing at a very fast pace.

    You might be asking, so how can YouTube help my business? So here’s number one, it’s fast growing. Live video, online video is growing exponentially. And right now there’s over 4 billion videos being viewed daily. And if you Google the statistics of why should I use video to build my business, you’ll see a lot more statistics that will actually blow your mind, but I just gave a few. I’m just giving you a few on here to help you out.

    Videos Help Compound Your Time

    Over two billion monthly active users are on YouTube every single day. That’s pretty powerful because over one fourth of the entire world’s population is on YouTube. And the other thing it’s going to do is it’s going to help you get more sales. So number one, you want to make sure that you’re taking a look at YouTube and you’re learning YouTube. I looked at a lady’s video, and this lady, I guess, was in the direct sales or network marketing space, and she had no idea what she was doing. And so she didn’t even… She was so nervous, the camera was on her just for a few seconds, and then she immediately turned it to her box with her products that she received from her home based business or company, and she opens it and talks about it.

    Now, didn’t have hundreds of thousands of views, but it had a couple thousand views that had only been up for a few months. And then there’s ways to look and see how many views that video is getting per hour. She was getting one view per hour, watching her open the box and talk about the products in that box. What would that mean for you if you hired someone to do one presentation an hour, 24 hours a day, seven days a week? See, the secret that I told you that most people they didn’t pay attention, when I was studying YouTube on the side and putting up bad videos but getting a little bit better, a little bit better, there’s one 11 minute video that I did four years ago. Okay. 11 minutes. And I just looked before I jumped on here, it is over one million views on YouTube.

    One million people have seen that video, and I did one 11 minute quick video. Now, is that going to happen every time? No. But what if you’re like that lady that just jumped on and said, “You know what, my desire and my why is bigger than me being uncomfortable. And so I’m going to get out of my comfort zone, I’m going to jump on there and I’m going to just do what I can.” And now she was getting this, probably more than that now, but one view every single hour. Even while she’s sleeping, people are hearing about her products and they’re being exposed to her. So video is growing extremely fast.

    Number two, you’re going to get more sales and you’re going to get more business. Hey, what creates the desire for someone to do business with you? They want to do business when they know, like and trust someone. What quicker way to get someone to know, like and trust you than to do a quick video?

    YouTube Should Not Be “Instead Of”

    Now, I’m not saying you stop anything that you’re doing right now. This is only in addition to what you’re doing, right. I’m talking to the ones of you that are like, “You know what, I’m sick of being stuck. I’m sick of being where I am.” And what if you put out a bunch of videos and you’re like, “Man, Darin, I’m not really getting a lot of views.” But what if it was that one view? I’m thinking of one country in particular right now where we were opening with the company that I used to be with, and they’re like, “Hey, you know what, I see that you’re opening in our country. We’re searching for a home, we’re searching for a sponsor. We have seen your online videos and we want to work with you.” And I’m like, “Really what made you decide to want to work with me?” “Hey, we love the fact you like to have fun, we love your vibe.”

    And so they only knew that because of video. It’s not like we used to have to have a bunch of emails and a bunch of going back and forth mailing things. Now you can take on someone to a buying decision pretty fast when you’re using video. Let me give you some other numbers. Four times as many consumers would rather watch a video than read about it. It increases sales. People are more likely to buy from you when they look at a video. 90%, nine out of 10 people that you’re sharing information with claim that a video would help them make a purchasing decision. Why not give them what they want? Now, this could be a video from your company, it could be a video with the app your company is using, but also it can be YouTube and videos that you’re doing as well, and that’s why people will find you.

    People retain more when they watch a video. One of the strengths of YouTube is there videos, and 95% of consumers retain information through video, with only less than 10% when they read. So that’s something to remember. It’s the number one preferred method to learn about products. Number one is video. Okay? The 40% of consumers state that the video increases the chances of them buying on mobile, 64% more likely to purchase on an online retail site after watching a video, and companies that use video grow 49% faster than other companies. And whether you’re in real estate, you’re a network marketer, you’re an independent business owner, do you want to grow 49% faster, then you utilize video. And this doesn’t just apply to YouTube, but we’re talking about YouTube on this one, but video is key.

    YouTube is the Second Largest Search Engine

    Okay, let’s talk about number three. Does anybody know in the comments who owns YouTube? Anybody know? Let me help you for sake of time. It’s Google. Google is the number one search engine, YouTube is number two, and it’s owned by Google. I’m also curious. How many of you in the comments go to YouTube? And let me know what you do when you go to YouTube. Do you search content, are you asking questions, are you doing personal development?

    So one of the strengths of YouTube is that it’s the number two biggest search engine in the world and it’s owned by the number one search engine. So what it does, it helps you reach other people. I can look on my app right now and go, “Man, even though I haven’t done a lot on YouTube, we’re getting ready.” We’re in the process of revamping and you’re going to see me relaunch my entire channel. But even though we hadn’t done that, and we’re in the process of redoing everything with me transitioning over to what I’m doing now, there’s over 50 countries. It only lists 50, and then it says other. So my YouTube videos are being watched in over 50 countries all around the world.

    Now, that’s not just me, that’s many people with a YouTube channel. So it helps you expand your reach to be able to expand your message and get to more people sooner than later. And guess what your products, your services, they solve problems. People go to YouTube looking for answers and you have what they want. According to Nielsen, YouTube reaches more US adults, just in the us, 18 to 34 than any cable network. And so that’s… It’s your reach.

    YouTube Videos Appear in Google Search

    Number four, being found doing YouTube videos will help people find you because when they search on Google, what happens when you search on Google, it also gives you suggestions of YouTube videos to take a look at as well. Now, if you’re in network marketing, you want to make sure that you follow your company’s policies and procedures and you don’t make income claims, you don’t make product claims. You don’t have to, right. I did all of those things, I was very compliant. And you don’t have to promise them the moon. And matter of fact, you’re more effective when you’re real and you’re transparent and you share with them what it really does. You don’t have to hype it up because people are… They’re so used to hype, when you do that, they think it sounds too good to be true anyway. So that’s another one, you’re going to be able to be found a lot sooner than later, and it’s going to help you with that. 

    Content Doesn’t Disappear

    Number five, this is a big one. Your content, and I didn’t know how I was thinking… The first word that came to my mind was your content doesn’t evaporate. What does something do when it evaporates? It disappears. You do a Facebook video. You could do a great Facebook video, have a lot of people on that video, and within a couple days, it goes down your newsfeed and it disappears. When you learn how to do the right things on YouTube, people can search and your video, like my video, if I look at some of my videos, they’re getting views every hour of every day, seven days a week, even though I did those videos many years ago. So what happens, your content becomes evergreen, which means it continues to work for you even while you sleep.

    Number six, we only got two more, a major strength of YouTube is that you can repurpose your content. When you’re doing videos, just like right now, this video is going on my Facebook page, it’s on my YouTube page, it’s on my Twitter page, very soon it’ll be on LinkedIn, it’s in our free groups that we offer, the 3M Factor, right. So it’s in that group. Then I’ve got a team that can come watch the videos and they turn them into transcripts and they take some of these things and put them into social media. So then you can repurpose your content. You can share it on multiple platforms. That’s another time saver, and it’s another way for you to leverage your time, energy and efforts.

    Use Your Videos to Build Your List

    And then last but not least, even though this is something that right now may not be a big priority for you, in the future, it should be, and I did this for years, is you build your list.     So let me just recap for you one more time, the reason that you want to make sure that you’re paying attention to YouTube, learning video, even if it’s uncomfortable, even if you’re just doing baby steps like the lady who turned the camera to herself and said, “Hey everybody, I’m going to show you opening my box,” and immediately turned it away from her, and she’s getting a view per hour, let’s go over it. Number one, fast growing, okay. Video is growing exponentially, that’s number one.

    Number two, you will get more sales and more business. How many of you want more sales and more business? Then you definitely want to take a look at that. Number three, your reach. It’ll help you reach more people. Number four, it’s going to help you being found. Number five, your content doesn’t go away, it doesn’t evaporate. Number six, you can repurpose your content.
